Muhammad Zaman

Zaman focuses on the three languages that he has grew up around: English, from being an American citizen, the Bengla, the language of his family roots, and Arabic which is the language of the religion that he practices. With the combination of these languages in artistic compositions, Zaman hopes to create an ambiance of harmony, unity and acceptance. There is always one recognizable letter in his art pieces, making the viewer more curious and connected to his work.

Zaman is constantly experimenting with different shapes and colors to modernise the aesthetic of the work. Although, it is important to him to maintain a certain level of tradition to reflect the different cultures included in his art. His paintings are often acrylic on wood as this is where he feels most suited however he never shies away from trying new styles, techniques, materials and textures.

Muhammad Zaman has taken part in many American exhibitions, with a strong focus in the New York area. Exhibitions include: GatherX25 at Buffalo Art Studios and The Luxembourg Art Prize finalist Show which has laid the foundation for a future international presence.
