Casey Watson was raised near Mt. Shasta in northern California. She was born in 1982, an only child, to parents who exposed her to their greatest loves: collecting rocks, identifying plants and birds, hiking, and voracious book reading. And, as often happens, willingly or not, their loves turned into her loves. Casey is a compulsive collector and although she would not describe herself as a ‘nature artist’ she is inspired by the shapes and colors found out-of-doors.
Ms. Watson attended the California College of the Arts and Crafts in San Francisco; graduated 2005 with a BFA in painting and drawing. She has spent the years since school living and working and often moving between Portland, Oregon and Philadelphia. Casey currently lives in Seattle with her partner and two-year old daughter.
