In 2006 I began exploring a theme of human figures in motion.  That theme has evolved to include ideas about the interaction of the figures with their environments.   I choose the beach as a common setting for my paintings because it is a vast natural space in which people move freely and the natural elements of the environment are also in motion.  The abstract paintings deal with the theme of motion and energy in nature, and do not include the human figure.   In current work, however, such as “Approach” and “Terraqueous”, I am integrating representational scenes into an abstracted landscape format.

We live in a universe that is magnificent and beyond our understanding.
